Randall Amplifiers - Amps

Randall has been producing solid state and tube amps since 1970, and the company’s history has a garden of interesting facts that few people seem to be aware of. The company was founded by Don Randall, an American citizen and business associate of Leo Fender. Leo Fender was running a small radio repair shop in California, something that Don had a deep and educated interest in. The years had led Don through WWII serving in the American forces, and when he returned home, he had discovered that Leo had started to manufacture small lap steel guitars and amps. Don offered to use his new job as a radio and television equipment wholesaler to distribute Leo’s new amps. Leo agreed and by 1953 the Fender Sales Corporation and Fender Electric Instrument Company were established, with Randall in charge of distribution. Don Randall, with his background in radio electronics, was even responsible for naming some of the most famous and iconic guitars in history, namely the telecaster and Stratocaster. Don Randall was soon made Vice President and General Manager of Fender, but eventually left in 1969 to establish his own company, Randall Amplifiers.

One of Randall’s newest and most exciting developments is the MTS series of amps. MTS stands for Modular Tube System. With these amps you have a choice of pre amps to suite your own needs. The amps come with built in power amps as well as partial preamps. Separate modules are then inserted into empty slots to finalize the preamp circuitry. In this series there are amps with single, or even multiple empty preamp slots. There is even the RM1250 that has 12 slots; and there’s no shortage of pres to choose from to fill these amps up. There’s everything from vintage Vox sounds to modern Marshall sounds, and they’re all fully tube.

If you want a new amp that has power and clarity, you should defiantly consider a Randall. These versatile amps can produce just about any sound that you might be looking for, from soft crunchy blues through Rust In Peace style metal. There is a huge variety of both small and large amps. Simply Music is now your local Randall dealer, so come in and check these works of art out.
